Hello Everybody,
As some of you might know, for the last one year i have been spending a week every month living as they say 'off the grid' in a remote place called Barkheda, some 40 km from Bhopal city.
The place has very modest facility....a cot, no electricity and no piped water either. I share the room with many others.....rats, mosquitoes and of course sometimes special guests like snakes or scorpions show up as well..... my last month visit had a pleasant surprise.....a cute little rabbit baby hiding under my cot!
Every time as i am leaving the comforts of my home in Pune i ask myself 'Why the hell do i do this to myself?".....and honestly i kind of force myself to go and live in literal solitude.
But surprisingly the moment i reach my room in Barkheda, i suddenly feel so relaxed and so unburdened.....
I guess one sure reason is that there is 'NO AGENDA FOR THE DAY'.....AND SURPRISINGLY that makes me wake up at 5am in the morning!.....no pollution, fresh organic food and some hours of physical work does the trick i guess!
Over the last few visits I have come to realize that 'Population Pollution' in cities seems to be having much more impact on our senses than the Air and Garbage Pollution.....!!!!
A typical day is something like this.....get up at 5 or in winters around 6.30.....work in the farm(i mean actually work with your own hands!) .....eat....again work....again eat....and sleep!!!
Is it boring?.....of course not. The days i am there are so refreshing, nourishing and rejuvenating that i can actually feel lighter...and then a lot of new, fresh and creative ideas and thoughts spring up in my mind from God knows where....
and my dear friend and fellow traveler Kiran always wanted me to write about those experiences, thoughts and feelings.....and so here i am......not as much for any audience but i guess for my own amusement.....!!
